Freedom Plains Nursery School
A Development Readiness Program
Our Freedom Plains Church Nursery School is a developmental readiness program guiding and encouraging each child in their social, physical, emotional and cognitive growth. The children learn by “doing” and having first hand experiences in all of the above areas. We provide a quality nursery school experience in warm, safe environment where each child feels comfortable and confident. We currently offer 2 days per week or 3 days per week morning programs for 3-year-olds and 3 days per week or 4 days per week programs for 4-year-olds.

My name is Kelly Burghardt (Ms. Kelly) and I absolutely love teaching four year olds. I received my degree in Early Childhood Education and have been teaching pre-k for 29 years. I have been at Freedom Plains for the last 14 years. Coming to Freedom Plains was a full circle moment as my oldest daughter attended both the three and four year old program here. It has been an honor and a privilege to work with children and their families over the course of my career. My personal philosophy is aligned with the school's mission statement.
I grew up locally in Hyde Park, NY where I went on to marry my high school sweet heart. We have been married over 25 years. We have two daughters - Jillian and Madison and a sweet Maltipoo named Tucker.
In my spare time I love reading, gardening, traveling, beach days a good wine tasting and spending time with family and friends.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to ignite the love of learning in young children while reinforcing the skills that are necessary for later academic success. We are dedicated to teaching young children in a way that is most effect for preschool age children. We are committed to fostering a learning atmosphere that is fun and engaging for every child.

Fours Teacher
Mrs. Hollar
I've been a resident of Dutchess County for 37 years. I have worked with children for 34 years and opened a daycare in my home when my son was born and ran that for 32 years. I have been teaching at Freedom Plains for 13 years.
I have three adult children and three grandchildren. My hobbies are reading, gardening, walking and swimming.
I believe that children do best in a safe, structured and loving environment.

This will be my 8th year working with preschool aged children. I am so excited to be part of Freedom Plains Nursery School and working with Mrs. Troy in the 3's classroom. On Sundays you will find me in the nursery room if your little ones can't sit through the service. I have two boys at home who are my pride and joy.

I have been teaching preschool for over 20 years, the past 8 years at Freedom Plains. It has been the best experience being a part of so many children's lives over the years and getting to know their amazing parents as well.
Growing up with seven siblings (I fall somewhere in the middle) was crazy and chaotic but a lot of fun. I married by high school sweetheart and we just celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary. We have two amazing kids, a daughter and a son. Ziggy our long coat Chihuahua and Cassy our Shi Tzu are a well loved part of our family.
My interests include reading, as one of my most favorited places to be is the library. I love the sun, summer and the beach. I also enjoy music, a good movie especially at the drive in and driving around in my Volkswagen Beetle.
