Children & Youth Faith Formation
From nursery to confirmation and beyond, children and youth at Freedom Plains are welcomed, known by name, and guided in the faith at every stage of the journey.
Nursery Care
We welcome our youngest children -- infants and toddlers -- in our nursery during Sunday morning worship. Caring volunteers provide a safe, warm, and nurturing environment so that parents can worship with confidence. All nursery volunteers are background checked and operate under our two-adult safety policy.
Sunday School - Pre-K through 8th Grade
Children begin worship with the full congregation and are dismissed partway through the service for Sunday School. After the worship service, kids are escorted to Fellowship Hall to rejoice with parents or caregivers.
Our Sunday School uses the Dwell curriculum, a story-centered approach to Christian education that invites children to find their place in God's big story. Every lesson is rooted in scripture and designed to help kids see their own lives as part of God's ongoing work of redemption and restoration in the world.
Our teaching engages children through interactive storytelling, wondering questions, and hands-on activities. Each session helps kids go deeper into scripture while connecting biblical stories to everyday life.
Our goal is to prepare all students for a life of faith that is grounded in God's grace and love for them, their friends, and their world.
All Sunday School volunteers are background checked and operate under our two-adult safety policy.

Confirmation
The ministry of the church is to help everyone take the next step in their journey of faith. Though not a hardline, we often engage with teenagers about intentionally engaging in matters of faith.
We help teens read and study the bible on their own, to deepen their prayer life, and process their questions and hopes in the grace of God. Questions we typically surface are: How can I grow in my relationship with God? Does God have a plan for me? How does Jesus make a difference in how we choose to live?
For questions regarding confirmation, you may email Rev. Heather M. Finck.
