5:00 pm - Family-Friendly Christmas Eve Service
A Family-Friendly Service for All Ages
Christmas Eve begins with wonder.
Our 5:00 pm Christmas Eve service is designed especially for families, children, and anyone looking for a joyful, relaxed way to celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is a modified Lessons and Carols service that is shorter in length, welcoming in tone, and thoughtfully shaped with younger worshipers in mind.
We gather to celebrate the good news of Christmas in a way that is accessible and meaningful for children while still being rich and reverent for adults. The sanctuary is filled with familiar and fun carols, a warm call to worship, and a spirit of gratitude as we give thanks to God for the gift of Jesus Christ.
During the service, we light the Christ candle as a sign of hope and love entering the world. Scripture readings are selected and adapted for clarity and storytelling, helping children hear and understand the Christmas story. The message is brief, uplifting, and centered on God’s love made known in Jesus, offering words of joy, reassurance, and thanksgiving.
This service is ideal for:
Families with young children
Grandparents worshiping with grandchildren
Those who prefer a shorter, relaxed service
Anyone who wants to celebrate Christmas Eve earlier in the evening
Children are welcome to be children. Wiggles, whispers, and wonder are all part of the night.
A Lessons and Carols Christmas Eve Service at 7:30 pm
Later in the evening, we gather again at 7:30 pm for a more traditional Lessons and Carols service. This service follows a classic format, with extended Scripture readings, traditional carols, and a quieter, contemplative tone.
The night concludes in a candlelit sanctuary as we sing “Silent Night,” marking the close of Christmas Eve with reverence and reflection.
This service is well suited for those who cherish a traditional Christmas Eve experience or who prefer a later evening service.
Whether you join us at 5:00 pm or 7:30 pm, Christmas Eve is a time to gather, to sing, and to celebrate the birth of Christ. All are welcome, and we would be glad to share this holy night with you.
Joy to the World!
Pastor Jason
