SENior HIgh Youth Fellowship

Senior High Youth Fellowship

Amid busy schedules of sports, music, school, jobs and generally just being a teenager –our youth stay connected through meeting on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 4-5:30 pm. Checking the church online calendar or the bulletin is helpful in order to stay on top of the schedule that has to be adjusted occasionally. We also have special events periodically.

Our Senior Highs reach out to the larger community as they by preparing and serving dinner to and visiting with the residents of Hillcrest House one evening each month.  Hillcrest House is residential halfway house operated by Hudson River Housing for those who are transitioning out of homelessness.

Our Senior Highs also participate in the yearly “Souper Bowl of Caring”, which is an interdenominational youth movement to combat hunger.  The organize and collect a free-will offering at the morning services on the NFL’s Super Bowl, and this offering is forwarded to Dutchess Outreach to help support their efforts to combat hunger.

The group also takes time out to “enjoy the moment” together by activities that recently included a kayaking trip, a rock climbing trip, and friendly but competitive bowling sessions.

The group builds bonds of connectedness through a time called Share & Care at our meetings.  In the year ahead, we will be exploring how our faith impacts the decisions we make through some Bible Study and conversation.
